The processing of personal data by Terra Raíz complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.

- Within the scope of this policy, Terra Raíz undertakes to:
- Explain the purpose and manner of processing any personal data requested;
- Use personal data only for the purpose mentioned in this policy;
- Request only the personal data that is necessary, taking the necessary steps to keep the data up to date;
- Keep personal data for the period of time necessary to process it in accordance with local legislation;
- Provide clients/jobseekers with the means to access, change, correct or delete their personal data;
- Keep personal data received confidential and protected, unless disclosure is required as a result of a legal order.
- Implement a culture of data minimisation, in which only personal data that is strictly necessary for the conduct of its business is collected, used and stored.

- Adopt the necessary security measures to guarantee the safeguarding of users' personal data against possible misuse or unauthorised access.

Terra Raíz's Privacy Policy applies in the following cases:

As a customer of the Accommodation, your personal data and/or the personal data of members of your family may be requested for different purposes, namely:

Contacts: name, nationality, telephone number, e-mail, address, etc.;
Date of birth;
Credit card details;
Dates of arrival and departure;
Information about children: name, date of birth, age (within the framework of the price reduction policy);
Interests and preferences: such as preferred room location, preference for room type and requested bed, additional beds, etc..

Possible customer comments during or after the stay.
As a job applicant or trainee at Terra Raíz, you may be asked for the following personal data:

All necessary data arising from the formalisation of the employment contract.We do not ask for sensitive information such as: religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, health information, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation or trade union membership.Personal data may be requested in different circumstances, including (but not limited to) the following:

Participation in advertising programmes (subscription to newsletters to receive offers/promotions, registration in loyalty programmes; collaboration in customer surveys and/or comments, competitions);
Terra Raíz activities (e.g. room or table reservations, check-in and check-out; complaints or requests);
Providing information on tour operators, travel agencies or online booking systems;
Internet activities (linking to the Terra Raíz website; filling in forms to request data online - e.g. online bookings, questionnaires, etc.);
Job or internship applications.

 

2. Purposes for requesting personal data.

Personal data is requested for the following purposes:Managing customer bookings and stays;Improving the services provided in order to understand customer needs and exceed their expectations;

Personalisation of our services;
Sending newsletters, promotions and advertising materials. Customers can unsubscribe from the e-mail newsletter service by clicking on the link in the newsletter we send by e-mail; Hiring employees.

3. Booking rooms on our website at www.terraraiz.pt

1. Terra Raíz uses the Wix booking engine.

2. All the data entered will be processed by Wix under the terms established by the GDPR legislation and always with the declared consent of the clients;

3. Clients must give their consent to the privacy policy when booking rooms; they may at any time have the right to access the files, rectify them, cancel them or object to them under the terms established in the GDPR legislation.

 

4. Sharing of Personal Data

Terra Raíz may share the personal data of clients/applicants with:

Terra Raíz employees, namely to provide the services requested and/or to manage the client/applicant databases (officially authorised by the Data Protection Officer).The authorities - if required by local legislation or as part of Terra Raíz's internal inspections, in accordance with legal requirements (Sending data to the SEF).

In the event of the transmission of personal data to third parties (SEF), the obligations under applicable laws will be strictly complied with and every effort will be made to ensure that such third parties use personal data appropriately, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Under the terms of the applicable law, Customers, as data subjects, have the following rights:- right of access: whenever they so request, they can access their personal data, obtain information relating to the processing of their data and also obtain a copy of their personal data being processed.
- right to rectification: whenever you consider that your personal data is incomplete or incorrect, you can request that it be rectified or completed.
- right to erasure: without prejudice to legal and regulatory obligations that may limit the exercise of this right, you can request the erasure of your personal data when one of the following situations occurs: 

-the personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or processed; 
- you withdraw the consent on which the data processing is based and there is no other legal basis for it; 

- you object to the processing of the data and there are no overriding legitimate interests, to be assessed on a case-by-case basis, that justify the processing; 
- the personal data must be erased under a legal obligation to which Terra Raíz is subject;

- right to restriction of processing: you can request that the processing of your personal data be restricted in the following cases: (i) if you contest the accuracy of your personal data, for a period of time that allows its accuracy to be verified; (ii) if the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of the data, requesting in return that its use be restricted; (iii) if Terra Raíz no longer needs the personal data for processing purposes, but the data is necessary for the purposes of the processing; 

(iv) if you have objected to the processing, until it is established that Terra Raíz's legitimate interests prevail over yours.
- right to withdraw your consent: in cases where data processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. In this case, your personal data will no longer be processed, unless there are other grounds justifying such processing by Terra Raíz.

Terra Raíz has implemented the necessary technical and organisational measures, in accordance with legal requirements, with the aim of protecting the personal data of clients and job-seekers, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with the rules set out in this policy.
